Welcome

“Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.”
-Prophet Muhammad
My life’s passion, experiences, and work intimately involve sports. My earliest recollection of sports was watching New York Knick’s basketball games with my Father and siblings. I began playing competitive sports at a very early age and continued to be engaged with sports throughout my childhood. My experience with sports helped in my physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
This love and passion for sports motivated me to pursue a career involving sports and athletics. As my career evolved, I recognized the need for additional knowledge, skills, and credentials to continue to advance in this profession. This is what led me to pursue a degree in North Carolina State University’s online Master’s program in Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Sport Management.
Already having the responsibility of managing a family, career, and a business, enrolling in a Master’s program was no easy challenge. This MPRTS program force me to lean on practical knowledge and experience, as well as considering new ideas and concepts shaping the industries of Parks, Recreation, Tourism, and Sports. Being able to exchange thoughts and ideas with brilliant classmates and professors expanded my knowledge and understanding of our profession.
This portfolio site gives a glimpse into my two-year experience in the program. Within, I offer takeaways from the courses I completed, sample work submitted, and final reflections on how my knowledge and understanding evolved through the program.
